A structural steel tower cap connection features a padeye positioned four feet from center-line Z on the top flange plate. A shear tab connects the girder per plan, with welds specified similar to detail 3/3.S-319 and magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing requirements. Stiffener plates match the flange plate thickness with fillet welds sized at five-eighths of the flange plate thickness or complete joint penetration welds. The bottom flange plate is three-quarter inch minimum thickness, and supplementary information is referenced on sheet 4/3.S-323.
