An expansion and control joint configuration in a concrete walk over a ninety percent compacted subgrade. The expansion joint features a one-half-inch felt expansion joint material with a one-half-inch sealant on top, finished with tooled one-quarter-inch radius edges. Number five smooth dowels measuring twenty-four inches long are placed at twenty-itches on center, wrapped with a bond breaker on one side. Six-by-six number ten by number ten welded wire mesh reinforcement is discontinued at the expansion joint. A control joint with a one-eighth-inch wide by one-quarter-inch deep saw cut is located adjacent to the expansion joint over a thickened concrete section.
