An electrical outlet box is installed within a partition framed with metal studs at sixteen inches on center and finished with five-eighths inch gypsum board on both sides. A one-eighth inch thick moldable firestopping putty covers all exposed surfaces of the metallic outlet box, which is sized up to four-square. Moldable putty is pressed into the perimeter between the outlet box and the stud or gypsum board all around. All knock-out holes containing wire or conduit are sealed with putty.
