A 1-1/4 inch diameter standard steel pipe handrail is anchored to wood or metal wall framing using painted wall brackets spaced at a maximum of 4 feet on center. The brackets weld to the bottom of the handrail and secure to a 12 gauge backing plate measuring 6 inches wide by 3 feet long installed between studs. The backing plate anchors to a minimum of three studs. A snap-on cover plate with concealed fasteners attaches to the backing plate with spacers provided as needed. All connections are welded and ground smooth.
