An exterior stair upper landing assembly connects precast treads and risers to a structural steel stringer supported by painted steel angle brackets welded to the stringer and bolted to the treads. The stair framing meets a concrete topping slab over a metal deck and wide-flange beam, adjoining a brick veneer wall assembly with a continuous stainless steel bar ledge and high-performance coated steel angles. An extruded aluminum guardrail with vertical pickets spaced at three and three-quarter inches on center is paired with a painted steel handrail finished with a three-part PVDF coating. A concrete curb with metal flashing is positioned adjacent to the topping slab.
