A wide-flange beam connects to diagonal hollow structural section brace members through a five-eighths inch gusset plate centered on the work point. Three-eighth connections utilize three-eighths inch stiffener plates on each side of the beam web, welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. The brace members are aligned at a typical thirty-degree angle and welded with quarter-inch fillet welds spaced at six inches typical. A one-inch clearance is maintained at typical locations.
