A rated shaftwall top track connects to a structural concrete slab using a metal runner track and a metal J track unless otherwise noted, attached to the structure with minimum one-eighth-inch powder-actuated fasteners at twenty-four inches on center with a one-and-one-quarter-inch minimum embedment. Gypsum board is mounted tight to the concrete structural slab unless otherwise noted above the top of the metal CH stud. Acoustic sealant is applied at partition types as scheduled along with acoustic insulation. Two-hour shaftwall complies with UL U438 and four-hour shaftwall complies with UL U408.
