A flooring transition between tile and a recessed floor mat is located at a door threshold. A clear anodized accessible aluminum transition strip, such as Schluter-Schiene or equivalent, is installed at the edge of the tile. The tile sits over a topping slab, which is placed on top of the structural concrete slab. The floor mat system is mounted adjacent to the transition strip and anchored directly into the topping slab.
