A twenty-two-inch by thirty-inch one-hour fire-rated access panel by J.L. Industries, Model FD, is installed according to Warnock Hersey approval number WHI-495-PFH-0163. Typical metal stud blocking is provided on four sides of the opening. Five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board runs continuously at the rafter, wrapping the gypsum up the blocking at the access panel on all four sides.
