A cold-formed metal stud lateral brace anchors to the underside of an overhead composite metal deck slab. A 3" by 3" by 16 gauge by 1'-3" long minimum metal angle spans across two flutes of the concrete-filled composite deck. Two 3/8" diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ expansion anchors secure the angle into the concrete slab. A metal stud brace connects to the angle clip using three number 10 sheet metal screws, positioned at a 30 to 45 degree angle. A metal stud brace schedule is provided detailing required stud gauges for various brace lengths.
