A mechanical duct penetrates an acoustical partition composed of acoustical batt insulation and gypsum board per the partition schedule. The annular space between the duct and the partition contains one-inch thick safing batt insulation. Acoustical sealant is applied at the penetration perimeter, with foam backer rod provided as required. The duct includes internal duct liner and is supported by a duct hanger installed per mechanical, electrical, and plumbing seismic support detailing.
