This architectural detail shows a round metal duct passing through a fire-rated gypsum board partition over metal studs. The annular space around the duct is packed with fire safing insulation and sealed with firestop sealant on both sides. A typical corner bead finishes the gypsum board edge at the opening. Duct sizes and specific partition types are coordinated per mechanical and architectural drawings.
