A three-inch insulated metal panel is supported by a sixteen-gauge steel track, which is secured to the top of a painted concrete masonry unit wall using powder-actuated fasteners as specified in the structural notes. The panel is fastened to the track with one-inch self-drilling screws spaced at fourteen inches on center. A twenty-two-gauge painted brake metal flashing provides a transition between the panel and the masonry, featuring a four-inch vertical face and one-inch legs. The flashing is sealed against the masonry face with continuous adhesive.
