A structural steel column finished with spray-applied fire-resistant material is enclosed by light-gauge metal framing and gypsum board layers to form a boxed column shape. Typical metal corner beads finish the exterior 90-degree corners, with surface-mounted corner guards installed where specified. The framing provides a variable offset from the fireproofing perimeter, finished with exterior walls where applicable.
