Transition condition between the building face and a finish surface of decomposed granite separated by metal edging. A two-foot-six-inch wide strip of three to five-inch diameter compacted stone sits over filter fabric and a stepped finish grade. The subgrade is compacted or uncompacted beneath the stone bed. Metal edging restrains the stone separation with a four-inch minimum depth and six-inch stake embedment into the subgrade. The decomposed granite surface aligns one inch below the top of the metal edging.
