An eighteen gauge minimum metal track bears directly on a concrete floor and secures with Hilti X-U zero-point-one-five-seven-inch diameter powder-actuated fasteners embedded a minimum of three-quarters of an inch per ESR-two-two-six-nine. Spacing is twenty-four inches maximum on center staggered for one layer of gypsum board on each side, or sixteen inches maximum on center staggered for two layers of gypsum board on each side. Metal studs insert into the track and carry finish materials whose maximum weight equals two layers of gypsum board on each side plus applied finishes. Acoustical sealant applies at the bottom of the track on each side of the floor.
