A continuous metal channel runner anchors the metal stud wall to the concrete slab using zero-point-one-seventy-seven-inch power-driven anchors spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The twenty-gauge metal studs are spaced at sixteen inches on center and filled with R-thirteen sound insulation, finished on each side with five-eighths-inch gypsum board. Electrical and telephone boxes are staggered on each side of the stud with sealant applied between the box and gypsum board. The base molding sits at the finish floor level with sealant at the joint. Fire-rated assemblies require five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board fastened with number six screws or six-penny cooler nails at four inches on center typical.
