An approved substrate receives an exterior insulation and finish system applied over a layer of adhesive and a minimum two and one-half inch expanded polystyrene insulation. A water-resistant base coat and reinforcing mesh wrap the backside of the insulation board before receiving a standard base coat and finish coat. A compatible sealant with a bond breaker is placed at the termination joint above grade. The foundation wall features a water-resistant base coat extending down to meet the sloped grade below.
