Manual swinging doors and gates with a front approach on the pull side require a minimum sixty-inch depth perpendicular to the doorway and an eighteen-inch minimum clear width extending from the latch side. An additional six inches of clearance is required at the exterior side of exterior doors. The maneuvering space accommodates wheelchair approach and operation of the door swing.
