A suspended gypsum board ceiling assembly is supported by carrying channels spaced at forty-eight inches on center maximum, with hanger wires positioned within six inches of the channel ends. Furring channels snap into the carrying channels at twenty-four inches on center maximum spacing. Gypsum board is fastened to the underside of the furring channels.
