This stair stone detail shows a steel stair stringer faced with two layers of plywood on top and one layer of plywood on the side, finished with a stone cap and stone side piece. A caulk joint seals the connection at the top of the stone cap. The stair tread consists of a stair pan finished with carpet and pad, maintaining a four-inch maximum dimension.
