A four-inch thick concrete pavement is reinforced with 6x6 W1.4xW1.4 welded wire fabric placed at mid-depth. The slab bears over a lean concrete fill that extends downward to the local frost depth. A half-inch expansion board with a removable cap and continuous sealant separates the concrete assembly from the adjacent construction. The top surface receives a broom finish with a four-inch tooled edge around the perimeter.
