A plastic pipe of varying type penetrates a fire-rated gypsum board and metal stud partition up to a maximum two-hour rating under UL system W-L-2002 or equivalent. An intumescent wrap strip is installed around the pipe and secured with a hose clamp, with overlap determined by the rated assembly requirements. A pipe collar attaches to the rated partition as required by the assembly. Fire-rated sealant is applied at the penetrations, and fiberglass insulation is installed as scheduled.
