A hollow metal door head condition is framed by a metal stud box header with full-depth spray-applied closed cell thermal insulation and a 5/8-inch gypsum board interior finish. The exterior wall assembly features cold-formed metal stud framing with 5/8-inch exterior gypsum sheathing, a fluid-applied air and vapor barrier, 2-1/2-inch rigid cavity insulation, and thermally broken Z-girts supporting a composite metal wall panel system. Self-adhered flashing wraps the door opening and laps over the prefinished metal flashing at the head. A 1/2-inch perimeter caulk joint seals the interface between the hollow metal door frame and the wall finish.
