A typical cold-formed steel stud wall terminates below a metal deck provided by others. A slip track of required size and gauge sits at the top of the studs and is secured with screws as required. A continuous plate spans two ribs of the metal deck and is fastened with screws on each side of the stud. Additional screws attach the stud framing to the metal plate at each stud location.
