This assembly consists of vertical steel pipe posts anchored with a quarter-inch steel plate gusset to a steel channel at the edge of a concrete-filled metal deck and supporting steel beam. One-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter steel pipes serve as horizontal railings spaced with seven equal intervals to maintain a clear space of less than four inches between rails. A separate one-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter steel pipe stair handrail is connected to the guardrail posts using a five-eighths-inch diameter steel bar support bracket, returning to the face of the guardrail with a steel endcap where specified. All stair railing connections and intersections are welded and ground smooth.
