A fluted steel deck with concrete fill meets the top of a wall parallel to the deck flutes, incorporating mineral wool insulation to fill the gap between the slab and wall top. Spray-applied fire-resistive material coats the underside of the floor or roof deck and structural elements. Spray-applied firestop material is applied over the joints with a minimum two-inch overlap onto the fire-resistive material and a half-inch overlap onto the wall. A continuous two-inch wide by 22-gauge metal strap secures the gypsum board, with gypsum board attached to the strap at a maximum spacing of eight inches on center.
