A tube steel column extends to the concrete deck below, centered on grid lines and encased within a cast-in-place concrete pier. The surrounding concrete guard wall features a two-inch chamfer at the exterior face and three-quarter-inch chamfers at typical corners. A one-half-inch pre-molded expansion joint with continuous sealant runs along the top of the finish slab perimeter.
