This tooled control joint is installed in a concrete slab resting on a class-2 aggregate base. The joint features a half-inch radius eased edge typically on both sides of the top corner. A sealant is applied at the surface over a joint backer and expansion joint filler material extending through the depth of the slab. Number 4 reinforcing bars measuring eighteen inches long are spaced at thirty inches on center across the joint with bond broken on one side.
