A diagonal wall brace composed of a 3-5/8 inch by 18-gauge steel stud spans from the top track of a non-bearing interior wall up to an overhead structural deck or joist at approximately 45 degrees. The brace features clipped flanges forming a shoe at each end for attachment. Four screws secure the upper shoe into the lowest portion of the corrugated metal deck without penetrating the roofing, with an alternative option to attach to the bottom chords of joists. Four screws fasten the lower shoe directly into the top track of the non-bearing steel studs.
