Two layers of five-eighths-inch type X gypsum board attach to scheduled steel studs using one-and-five-eighths-inch type S screws spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The wall assembly features a control joint spaced at a maximum of thirty feet, maintaining a five-eighths-inch gap with a one-half-inch maximum joint dimension. The configuration is rated for two-hour fire resistance.
