A half-inch thick gusset plate welds to the embed plate with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld, providing the connection interface for the hollow structural section member specified as four by four inches per plan. An additional steel pipe is positioned nearby per mechanical drawings with specified minimum clearances.
