Sidewalk paths maintain a standard forty-eight-inch minimum clearance between curbs and typical obstructions. Reduced clearances of thirty-six inches are permitted under unreasonable hardship conditions. Narrower thirty-two-inch clearances are allowed for a maximum length of twenty-four inches per Section 11B-403.5.1 Exception 1. All sidewalks comply with California Building Code Section 11B-302 and Section 11B-403.5.1 Exception 3.
