Cold-formed steel stud and track splices utilize a twenty-four inch minimum length piece of backup stud or track centered over the joint. Six number six gauge screws are fastened to each flange on each side of the splice minimum. The twelve inch minimum dimension extends outward from the centerline of the joint in both directions.
