Junction between a prefinished aluminum curtain wall system with one-inch insulated glazing and an exterior stone veneer wall assembly. The wall framing consists of metal stud jamb framing packed with a minimum six-inch depth of spray-applied closed-cell thermal insulation, faced with five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing. A fluid-applied air and vapor barrier coats the exterior gypsum sheathing, and self-adhered flashing wraps the window opening. The stone veneer panels are secured using thermally broken anchors, while the interior is finished with painted gypsum board over metal stud framing. Perimeter sealant joints with backer rods seal the interface between the aluminum framing, sealant joints, and the surrounding stone and interior finishes.
