Cold-formed steel stud partition bracing extends from the metal channel stud head track up to the steel decking and one-half-inch DensDeck sheathing. The brace consists of either a three and five-eighths-inch by twenty-five gauge metal stud spaced at four feet on center maximum with a seven-foot maximum span, or a six-inch by twenty gauge metal stud spaced at four feet on center maximum with a ten-foot maximum span, installed with alternating brace directions. The stud brace is secured to the bottom flutes of the steel decking using three number ten screws. At the partition head, studs are lapped twelve inches minimum and screwed together with the track using three number eight minimum screws, with one screw into each flange where required. A metal partition head track matches the stud gauge and connects to the metal channel stud below.
