An outdoor terrace gate consists of a one-and-a-half-inch by three-quarter-inch steel post secured to a galvanized steel angle, which is mounted directly to wood joist framing beneath a landscape wood decking assembly. The gate features a half-inch by two-inch top rail and a diagonal half-inch steel rod with threaded tips for structural stability. Operation is managed by a continuous self-closing piano hinge and a latch with a paddle bar. The assembly stands two feet eight inches high with a four-inch clearance above the finished wood decking.
