The assembly consists of a fire-rated hollow metal frame set within a one-hour rated metal stud partition. Continuous twenty-gauge metal runners anchor the framing at the head. Batt insulation fills the wall cavity, and fire-rated sealant is applied to both sides between the frame and wall finish. The door head accommodates openings up to three feet wide, complying with UL System No. U419, UL System No. SP-3-001, and NFPA 80 standards.
