An exit sign is mounted to the wall with a surface mount configuration or stem mounted perpendicular to the wall. The bottom of the sign maintains a minimum clear distance of eight feet six inches above the finish floor. The top of the sign is positioned a maximum of one foot six inches below the ceiling.
