A structural steel column bears on a base plate set atop a reinforced concrete footing or grade beam. The slab on grade features a column blockout and transitions to a thickened slab edge. Anchor bolts secure the column base plate within the concrete foundation assembly. The first floor elevation is set at zero inches with an adjacent curb elevation at six inches.
