The metal stud wall assembly bears on a bottom track secured to the concrete floor with power-driven fasteners at 16 inches on center maximum per ICC-ESR-1752. Gypsum board layers on both sides of the framing are fastened with number 10 screws typically. Fire caulking seals the half-inch gap at the base between the gypsum board and the concrete floor. The complete assembly conforms to UL design number U419 for a two-hour fire-resistance rating.
