A guardrail and handrail assembly is anchored adjacent to a floor slab, featuring a two-inch diameter top guard rail and intermediate handrails. Intermediate bars are spaced so a four-inch diameter sphere cannot pass through any opening up to a height of thirty-four inches. The total guard rail height is three feet six inches above the floor level.
