A pipe sleeve is cast into a reinforced concrete slab with a dropped trough profile measuring one foot wide at the bottom. A three-inch by three-inch by one-quarter-inch plate is welded to the bottom of the sleeve and anchored with two number four reinforcing bars. The void around the sleeve is filled with non-shrink grout over a cold joint in the concrete ramp slab. A handrail extends vertically through the assembly.
