An acoustic partition wall terminates perpendicularly into a shaft wall assembly. The shaft wall features a continuous backing of two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board panels over USG steel C-H studs. The intersecting partition wall is framed with steel C-H studs and J-runners, filled with sound batt insulation, and finished on both sides with one-inch Type X gypsum board liner panels.
