An aluminum window system mullion rests on shims and a pre-finished aluminum sill pan above a weathered Corten steel panel wall. The wall assembly consists of metal stud framing filled with insulation per energy calculations, faced with glass-mat gypsum sheathing board and a high-temperature weather-resistive barrier. A waterproofing pan is sloped a minimum of 1/4 inch per foot at the top of the wall below the storefront. Backer rod and sealant close the exterior joint beneath the mullion, while any penetrations in the waterproofing membrane or weather-resistive barrier must be fully sealed.
